Landed cost calculator
The listing price is the smallest part of most first orders. This instrument walks the six cost lines in the order they are charged and shows which threshold decides whether tax applies.

Cost waterfall and total
Landed total
$178.80Freight share of the total
25.2%Tax share of the total
0.0%Declared value 120.00 is at or below the threshold of 800.00, so no tax line applies on this calculation.
3 of the six lines above are rates you can change: commission, payment surcharge and freight. The total moves when they move, so treat it as a shape rather than a quote.

- Defaults are our starting figures; every one of them is editable on this page.

- Parameter rows carry no sample count of their own. Where a row depends on data, the sample is stated on the page that publishes it.

- These defaults are planning figures. Your own quote or invoice is the authority.
How to read the result
- The waterfall lists six lines in the order they are normally charged: item, domestic, commission, payment, freight, tax.
- Tax applies above the destination threshold. Below it the tax line is zero, and the page states the threshold and the reason rather than leaving a blank.
- Every rate and threshold on this page is editable. Your checkout screen is the authority; this instrument is for seeing the shape of the total before you commit.
- The page separates the figures you entered from the figures we pre-filled, so you can see how much of the total rests on your own assumptions.
Using it
- Open the instrument above. It calculates with the defaults immediately, so there is nothing to set up before you see a result.
- Replace the defaults with your own figures. Each field names what it expects and which week its default was checked.
- Read the result panel. If a field falls outside its expected range, the page says so and pauses the calculation rather than returning a figure built on bad input.
- Use Reset to return every field to its default. Nothing you type is sent anywhere or stored after you leave the page, except the QC checklist, which stays in your browser.
Questions that come up
Why is the total so much higher than the item price?
Because five other lines sit between the listing price and your door. Freight and destination tax are usually the two largest.
Does a tax-free line avoid the tax?
Not necessarily. Tax treatment depends on the destination rule and the declared value, not only on the line name.
Should I lower the declared value to stay under the threshold?
We do not recommend mis-declaring, and this instrument does not help you do it. It shows what the threshold does to your total so you can plan around it legitimately.
